Nur Bukhara Solar Power Plant Project, Uzbekistan
General Project Information:
The “Nur Bukhara” Project comprises the construction of a 250 MW solar photovoltaic power plant and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a power capacity of 63 MW and an energy storage capacity of 126 MWh.
The project is part of the development of Uzbekistan’s renewable energy infrastructure and provides for the integration of solar power generation and energy storage into the national power grid.
Location:
Alat District, Bukhara Region, Uzbekistan
Scope of Work:
As part of the project, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning works were carried out for the 3.1 km and 0.18 km double-circuit 220 kV overhead transmission lines.
Equipment and Material Supply:
Supply of steel towers, insulators, conductors, shield wire/OPGW, line hardware, grounding components, fasteners, and associated materials.
Earthworks and Civil Works:
- Preparation of the transmission line route and surveying of tower locations;
- Excavation and construction of tower foundations;
- Backfilling and soil compaction;
- Site preparation and restoration following completion of the construction works.
220 kV Overhead Transmission Line Installation:
- Assembly and erection of steel towers, crossarms, and grounding components;
- Installation of insulators, line hardware, conductors, and shield wire/OPGW;
- Conductor stringing, sag adjustment, and installation of tension and suspension assemblies;
- Installation of tower grounding systems;
- Connection of the overhead transmission lines to the 220 kV equipment at the designated connection points.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Inspection of installation quality and verification of electrical clearances, phase sequence, and electrical connections;
- Measurement of grounding system resistance;
- Electrical testing and comprehensive verification of line readiness for energization;
- Preparation of test reports and as-built documentation;
- Participation in energization and commissioning of the 220 kV overhead transmission lines.
