General Project Information:
With an installed capacity of 558 MW, Yusufeli Hydroelectric Power Plant is one of Türkiye’s major hydropower facilities. The plant has an estimated average annual electricity generation of approximately 1.9 billion kWh.
The project covers the repair of the 420 kV Phase B cable termination of the main power transformer of Unit No. 3. The repair became necessary following the detection of a pressure drop in the termination expansion tank and a suspected silicone oil leak.

Scope of Work:
The project includes repair and restoration works for the 420 kV cable termination, including the supply of necessary materials and equipment, dismantling, servicing and reinstallation of the termination, as well as post-repair inspection of the equipment.
Cable Termination Repair and Installation:
- Dismantling and servicing of the 420 kV cable termination;
- Reinstallation of the cable termination, cable supports, expansion tank and junction box;
- Pressure adjustment and preparation of the equipment for energization.
Inspection and Acceptance:
- Final inspection of the equipment upon completion of the repair works;
- Leak-tightness inspection of the cable termination after 24 hours of transformer operation under voltage;
- Preparation of acceptance documentation.
