Agreements were signed for the construction of two solar photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 500 MW each in Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions.
Uzbekistan pays much attention to the development of renewable energy sources. When implementing such reforms, having studied world experience, negotiations were held with leading Chinese companies and agreements were signed.
In order to develop renewable energy sources in the energy system of our country, on 27 April 2023, between Energy China Overseas Investment Division China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. (China) and National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan signed agreements for the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 500 MW each in Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions.
The meeting with foreign partners and the ceremony of signing the agreement was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan" S. Artikov and responsible specialists.
These two large-scale projects, which will allow additional production of 2.3 billion kWh of electricity, will reduce natural gas consumption by 588 million cubic meters per year. As a result, it will be possible to save fuel resources and reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
